Orienteering 44:52 [1] *** 3.0 km (14:57 / km) +50m 13:48 / km

ROC Scrooge-O (nightime orienteering tag). Never got used to the 1:5000 map at night; wasn't really using a light (lots of cultural light) and never used compass. Got "tagged" early and decided to go to far side of map where I slipped and fell down a steep slope landing on the upturned branch (stub) of a log. Somehow avoided nasty puncture wound; gorgeously colored bruise now baseball sized. Finished "race" by going through burdocks (didn't see them at the time) the last fifty feet into the "safe" zone. Instantly won the "Most Photogenic" award.
