At 5-3 in the first game, I realized that his lateral movement speed was essentially zero. From then on, I could return any serve for a winner - and indeed most volleys that I served were quite short, too. The score was ugly, but the match served its "destressing" purpose. 15-3, 15-1, 11-0.

New machine at the Richter Center. It's like an stepper, but you get to set the tracking width; make it narrow and it's very much a stepper, but expand it a lot and it's almost like skating. It also has lots of "random" 30-second challenges so it's helpful for the attention span. (Early reports are that everyone on it says they get a better workout than on any other machine, but this may be a "novelty increases effort" effect.

So taking a week off and then going for four sessions in one day probably isn't smart... then again, neither am I...

Cutthroat (discounted) with Brian and Syed - both of whom I should always beat.

Game 1: Brian was playing really well and took the first seven points. After that, I came back to 16-20-4. Syed went on a bit of a tear and I used the down time to get the points to win 21-20-13

Game 2: Brian was now down-trodden and Syed was tired. I pulled ahead 19-9-8 before "falling asleep" before winning 21-16-11.

Then Brian left and I played singles with Syed (to 11).

Game 3: Long rally lets me tie it at 3 and completely exhausts Syed. I win 11-5.

It was supposed to be cutthroat, but Brian didn't show, so it was singles with Jerry. He clearly couldn't keep up, so we rested often.

Game 1: 15-3
Game 2: Relaxed too much and trailed 1-8. Came back to 8-9 and 9-10. Then Jerry made some amazing shots and it was 9-14. He had three good chances to win - he missed two and I made a good play on the third. I won 15-14.
Game 3: 11-3
