Soud 7-15 (led 7-6) and 12-15 (tied at 12)

Cutthroat. Won one of three, but jammed my foot against the back wall in game 2 and limped through the last game and a half.

Ellison Park Adventure Run - with Sarah Levine and Alex Sader

Started in Score-O, letting them choose order. We went 2-5-1-3-7-4-6. On the way to 4, Sarah started complaining that her knee hurt. By the time we went to 6, she was almost walking. After considering the options, she decided to go with us to the wetlands if she could keep up. (Of course, once she started, it wouldn't matter as we couldn't leave her anyway.

Took our time from NA-1 to NA-4. Then went to 17, letting Alex do the hill. Going to 16, we saw it from the trail and Sarah insisted on getting it. We went then to 14, 18, 13, 11, 10, 15, 9, 8, and 12. Sarah was hurting and we used a "liberal" interpretation of "within sight" for 14, 11, and 15, but she was in decent spirits. We then walked out from NA-4 back to NA-1. On the way back to NA-1, she decided to drop out when we passed the start-finish area. We made it back to NA-1 at 2:30 (race time).

Alex and I approached 19 from the trail up to the spur, bidding adieu to Sarah. Came down a dubiously chosen deer path (that others had used) and began the slog to 20. This was our only "bobble" of the day as we hesitated for about for about 20 seconds to make sure we got the correct spur. Found an unmapped tail across the top of the spur and down to the trail that is blocked by the red line from 20-21. Took that trail and the eastern fork to 21. Took the same trail back to 22 heading up the hill south of the control. 22-23 UGH! Straight down followed by straight up; then along the trail. Crossed the creek at the bridge on the ox-bow and stayed east of it to Blossom Road. Into the parking lot and down the trail east of the swamp and up the last hill before the downhill(!) run in.

It was way too hot and the heat got to us even as we were walking or we would have done a good bit better. Nonetheless, I was proud of Sarah for sticking it out as long as she did and for knowing when to quit.

Swimming 33:28 [2] 1.0 mi (33:28 / mi)

New rotation: { 200 free, 100 breast } x 6 - with the last 50 being free instead of breast for a "kick".

Thought I swam at a very relaxed pace, but had a "decent" time; probably the result of trading 150 breast for 150 free.

Racquetball ((Sood)) 40:00 [3]

Down 6-14, led 16-15 but lost the point on a freak shot, lost the game 16-18.
Down 2-11, came back to tie at 13 before losing 13-15.
