Ocean Plunge - first ride ever on a new (this week?) course. Was guaranteed to set a PR and the all-time Y record - as well as turn in my worst performances ever on the same metrics - but was really shooting for under 40 minutes. The distance said it was doable, but the hills were quite steep and I was working hard the entire time to make the goal. Wasn't real confident until the last half to three-quarters of a mile. Top 15% overall; one position off top 15% age group; and, of course, one and only all-time at the Y - although the website says I am not on the all-time leader board despite recognizing that I am on the Winter 2017 leader board. Odd. P:223; C:61.
