CMTR 5K Time Trial badge

As I am not supposed to run on my new knee (although I did for the Nog Jog), I had been procrastinating this one, trying to decide if I would "sneak out" when my wife wasn't looking. Today's walk featured a wind chill that was often below zero (Fahrenheit) so I was planning to claim the Frozen badge. But then my Garmin told me that I had set a new record (for this watch?) with my fastest 5K time ever. [Note: this watch was purchased after I trashed my knee but before my surgery.] So, here's the challenge and I'll have to get Frozen later.

CMTR Snowman badge

We had a storm with wonderful snowman snow in early December, but I passed then. Since then we got 22 inches of very dry snow followed by rain. So, no snowmen. Today, there was a dusting on the driveway, so when I was done, I did a mini version of GPS art and drew a snowman (complete with hat) by scuffing up the driveway. Just as I finished, the school bus came by and I got a true "seal of approval" from the half of the bus that could see it!

Alas, the snowman was gone two hours later, cruelly murdered by Mr. Sun.

Resolution Badge for CMTR Winter Scavenger Hunt

This is actually the fourth hike for the badge - which requires going out and considering a New Year's type resolution that you can begin that day. My resolution was to begin (at least) my long overdue letter to my nephew who is a "guest of the governor" in Florida. The other three times, life intervened and I never started the letter. But today I did, so I got to claim the badge.

Would have been my "Star Trek" badge, for "Go(ing) where no man (at least not this man) has gone before"
