YardWork (Snow shoveling) 25:00 [2]

So, for two months my wife and I had been feeling that either our house was poorly insulated or we were getting old because our tolerance for the cold in our house (kept at 65 F during the day) wasn't cutting it since we had moved to Maine. We were banking on the former as our daughter and sister-in-law had made similar statements on their rare visits. Today, I couldn't take it any more and I got an independent thermometer and it registered 59 in the house even as the thermostat read 65. So we cranked the thermostat up to 71 and the house temperature rose to 61.

What does this have to do with my workout? Chilled, I went outside to shovel snow so I could get warm!

And tomorrow will include a trip to the hardware store for a new thermostat!

CMTR Cross Training Badge

Had hoped for some form of skiing, but the snow's all gone, so I did Stef's strength class with my wife. Good thing I saved this one for last; I may not be able to move for a few days...

CMTR Re Run Run Badge

Although we did a major purge of "unneeded" items before we moved, I find myself wearing professional clothes much less frequently in retirement, so I took about 25% of those clothes to Goodwill this afternoon. With other errands, this outing actually ended up taking longer than the exercise portion of the badge.

(only one badge to go now!)

CMTR Frozen Badge

Nothing clever. Just head out in sub-zero (F) wind chill for long enough. It was brutal near the fields and against the open headwind going to the second hill, but that was a heck of a tailwind (that didn't feel so cold) on the return trip!
