Event: MNOC Tamarack Night O

Orienteering (night O) 45:32 [3]*** 4.6 km (9:54 / km) +50m 9:23 / km
spiked:12/14c
MNOC Tamarack Night O - clear and cool . Good fast running mostly on trails and around the lakes/marshes . Controls were hung low and mostly without reflectors making them tougher to spot in long grass (needed to check clue sheet closely). Got very wet crossing Fish lake Creek (5 to 6) but gained 12 seconds on Pete for that leg. I have entered splits for Red A (for red B put them in red B but change the order to red A for direct comparison) . (If anyone logs on the brown (MAJ?) I can put in the lengths also)

Note
(rest day)
rest day.... not sore at all but felt dehydrated , system out of balance from all the sweating of last 2 days

Minnegoat (at Telemark Wi). Unseasonably warm and muggy. (too much beer in the bar after the night O didn't help either). Slow start : followed Graham to 1 ; then joined by Jerritt to 2 . Took cautious longer trail routes with solid attackpoints . Jerritt was abot 30 meters ahead on 7 to 8 and took main trail; I took parallel trail on N to try and overtake unseen . He came out of 8 about 20 seconds behind me. Skipped 10 and 11 . Ran the rest of the way with Jerritt as a sort of team effort. (Thanks for the E caps) . Second set of legs kicked in at control 25 . Eventually J slowed and suggested I go on to the finish. Ran on after 27 .

Drank 40 oz of liquids. Long event with perpetual up and down. Was reading the terrain well ... finally

Control retrieval at Telemark after the Minnegoat. Dragged myself out there one more time (with bike) . was actually a good way to warm down. Tired by the end!
