Orienteering race 1:01:00 [3] **** 3.8 km (16:03 / km) +155m 13:20 / km

West Point Middle. Green Y. I have to say I wasn't too worried about this weekend until people started expressing how difficult this terrain is, and that I should be careful, and that was very slippery out there with lots of rocks...thanks! Now I was getting nervous. But it ended up okay. I felt fine going around the course; just took it super slow and careful down the rocky hillsides. My navigation was also pretty good, except for a boom at #2. I had run right by it, but thought I further to go, so ended up doing a big fat circle until I relocated on a control on a stone wall. Rats!

The worst part for my knee was after the run. It stiffened up pretty quickly and was quite swollen. A few icings, though, and an Aleve helped. It must not have been too bad because it certainly didn't keep me awake. I was camping on the parade field and ended up falling asleep at 8:30 pm. I woke up a few times in the night because of the thunderous rain, but basically slept through until 6:30. Ten hours of sleep! Unheard of.

Running 15:00 [3]

This was the run to the start...except for the steepest parts of the hill.

Walking 15:00 [1]

Walk back to the finish. A most unkind end to the day.
