I brought Graham down to NC today so he could spend his Spring break with his dad. I also drove home late last night from NJ, so I've seen a good bit of I-95 over the past few days.
I had done some Googling before I left, and found Medoc Mountain State Park
, which looked like a good place to get in a run on my way home. And it was! Other than the fact that there had been a prescribed burn there today, so some of the woods were still smoking and the air right at the beginning of the trail was a little hazy. It brought back memories of Lake Sebago.
I ran the Bear Swamp Trail, around the Summit Trail, and back. These were beautiful woods, with nice pine needle covered trails and a section along the river that was really scenic. The bit up to the "summit" was steep, but short. Evidently, Medoc Mountain isn't really a mountain, but rather a long ridge. Whatever it is, it was a nice place to stop.
