Hiking 3:10:33 [3] 6.86 mi (27:47 / mi) +650m 21:28 / mi

I hadn't planned on going this long, but when I got to Lory, I saw some of the trails I had planned on hiking were closed due to the mud. So, I made a quick recalculation, which I knew would be long. I had thought about looking for the clandestine trail between the overlook on Arthur's Rock trail and Overlook trail, but I forgot to. Next time.

It was such a beautiful day. I ended up taking off all my outerwear and it was still a little toasty. It was so nice going up because there was almost no one on the trail, but once I hit Arthur's Rock, it was like I had merged onto a highway. I was very happy to take the exit ramp onto Overlook trail and get back to a quieter trail. Although, Overlook trail was very icy and extremely muddy. This was probably a trail that should also have been closed. I even double checked on my way out of the park to see if it had been closed, but no.

I also made a last ditch effort for another Scavenger Hunt badge and used this as my Trail Scavenger Hunt. I actually didn't think about it until I got home, so I had to retroactively think back on what I saw. It was enough to get me over the 100 points that this badge is worth. I also took the time to see a few other badges I could claim from past workouts, so I got up to claiming all but two -- the Eggnog Run and the Decorate badge. I realized my mistake with the former when I didn't do this before Christmas. There is a dearth of eggnog in the markets after the holidays. I did much better at the winter challenge than the summer one.
