Orienteering 46:54 [2] ***
I spent the first part of the day in Baltimore, with peggyd and vmeyer, visiting the Gee's Bend Quilt exhibit at the Walters Museum. It was an interesting exhibit, with some very non-conventional, creative quilts. Valerie's mom met us there, and brought us to a local pub for lunch...a lot of fun.

Afterwards, we journeyed down to Greenbelt Park to set up a training event in the Summer Short Series. Peggy had designed a memory-O, and we all took some controls to set out. The map needs a bit of work, so it took a little more relocating to ensure the controls were in the correct places. I opted not to run the actual Memory-O course, as I was having a nice time chatting with the others in the parking lot, and because it was 100 degrees!

A very fun day!

Running 40:03 [3]
Finally, there was beach weather today, which made it especially hot for running. My final run at the beach until next weekend.

Went for a ride today on the beach road. I had the same head wind/no head wind issue today, but of course, made much worse since I was on a bike. The weather today is less than stellar, with overcast grey skies and wind. It is a perfect letterboxing day!

Running 43:26 [3]
I arrived at Bethany Beach last night to spend a few days with my good friends, Meg and Victoria. Went for a run this morning with Meg. There was a killer headwind when we started on this out and back course. You'd think coming back would be glorious, but it was very hot and muggy with no wind. That is always so weird to me.

This was also a good run because Meg and I used to run together all of the time, for years. Then our schedules changed, and I basically became a solo runner for the last few years and have gotten very used to it. Now, it's difficult for me to run with other people, which has made Meg sad. But today there were no issues, so that was good.

Cycling 41:00 [2]
I took my bike down to Fredericksburg Battlefield after I declared the work day over. It was an incredible evening, with coolish temps and absolutely no humidity. And the evening light was once again awesome. I had to be careful at one point because the speed limit on the road is 25 mph, and I was hitting 31 mph going down a very steep hill. Good thing the police weren't running radar!
