Orienteering race 1:40:00 [4] 8.1 km (12:21 / km)

As part of my Mother's Day present, I made Caitlin and Graham come orienteering with me. And, since my Mom was the meet director, it was the perfect Mother's Day gathering. I ran Blue today, and it felt pretty good. Ball's Bluff can be hilly and it has an extensive trail network which had me scratching my head a few times, but nothing serious. My knee held up pretty well until the last loop, which is what differentiated Red from Blue, so I was tempted to drop down to Red since we passed right by the Finish box when starting out on the loop. But, I persevered and was glad for it.

My knee was definitely sore at the end, so I went home and iced it and took some Aleve. Hopefully that will avert the worst of it tomorrow. I *am* having some sort of weird allergic reaction, though, where my eyes are itching beyond belief. Not sure what that's about.

We also managed to miss the worst of the rain, too. Today was a break between two storm systems, and we're slated to get upwards of 2" of rain overnight. I think we've had enough rain now. The storm last week spawned an F2 tornado about 5 miles from my house, damaging 150+ homes. That was a little scary.

Running (Trail) 50:23 [3]

After the dismal run yesterday, I decided to head to PWF for something a little more enjoyable, and it was. However, it was very wet. The rain had stopped, but many of the "trails" were streams, and Quantico Creek was a raging river. Every reentrant that led down to the river had rushing water in it. I guess we *did* get a lot of rain last night.

My knee felt marginally better, but my legs didn't feel dead, my stomach did not hurt, and I could breathe.

Stretching 5:00 [1]

Afterwards.

Running 30:00 [2]

I ran, and there was nothing nice about it. My knee hurt, my stomach hurt, I couldn't breathe and my legs felt like lead. So fine.

Some low impact intervals on the trainer. It felt so good.
