| After a day of rain and wind yesterday, courtesy of Tropical Storm Hanna, I had many chores to catch up on in the yard, so I wasn't able to make it to QOC's meet at Bowie. So, I was a good chore girl and got everything done and then headed to PWF with the puppies. We started on the scenic loop, and then turned on to Black Top Road and in to Turkey Ridge, where we stopped for a water break for the dogs. Then, down Turkey Ridge trail to the road, and back to Parking Lot D.
The dogs did great on the scenic loop, and pretty well on the fire roads, but the trail was another story, which I knew it would be. Too many squirrels and other distractions. Towards the end, they were much better, so it was just the excitement of being in the middle of all of those squirrels. I'm sure with more practice, they'll get better. However, it's going to be awhile before I can try them off-leash. |
| I went to Great Falls, MD, for a trail run with my BFF, Meg. She's been having some marital problems lately, so I wanted to have a nice run to talk things over. It was a great morning, and the parking lot by Old Angler's Inn was filling quickly. I felt great on this run. It was nice to be running with Meg, again. |
