Hiking 50:30 [3] 2.94 mi (17:11 / mi) +6m 17:05 / mi

This last week has been a total fail at life/work balance. I started a new job, but haven't transitioned my old job yet, so I was drowning. Plus, my left knee still hurt really badly from orienteering in Georgia. So...nothing got done.

But when you are given a sunny day and 65˚, there's no excuse not to go outside. I thought I'd go for a bike ride, but that did not feel at all good on my knee, so I scrapped that idea and just went for a walk around Wash Park. I wore my new Forerunner 220 and found out that while my loop is not the 2.8 miles PG thought it was, it's also not the 3.1 miles *I* thought it was. It was a compromise at 2.94.

There were so many folks enjoying the nice weather.

Update on Don:

He is out of the hospital, a little earlier than he would have liked. He's still in quite a bit of pain, especially at night. One more injury that I just learned about was that he also hurt his leg, maybe from being tossed around under the truck. It's pretty cut up and bruised. The doctors were worried about some bad swelling, but an MRI ruled out any clots.

He's on quite a few medications, so hopefully that will help the pain. And now, as is the case with all broken ribs, we just have to wait and let time heal all things.

Some of you have asked for his address, so here is his email and snail mail, in case you want to send a note of good cheer:
