Note

And thus endeth my working in the yard. The copperhead was back today, and I almost reached down and grabbed a gartersnake. So I'm done. I'll be looking for a landscaping company to do my work, which makes me sad because I love to work in the yard. But my revulsion of snakes trumps my love of yard work.

Orienteering race 1:23:38 [4] 5.7 km (14:40 / km)

2019 Beer Chase at Jug Bay.

I got so wrapped up in the mass start and drinking that I forgot to start my watch, so no tracks.

I knew my hamstring/glute was not 100%, and that was definitely reinforced on the way to #1! :-( . So, it was a slow day, not wanting to strain anything even more. The slow choice was also determined by the weather -- hot, hot, and humid. Not my favorite.

My navigation was good. I just made a stupid route choice to #8 on the first loop. I was trying to avoid the marshy creek valley, but went way too far out of the way. I talked to Ken Sr. afterwards, and he said that the bottomlands weren't bad at all. At least my drinking splits improved, even though I was only drinking water.
