Orienteering 56:58 [3] 3.83 km (14:52 / km) +157m 12:21 / km
US Masters Nationals. Brown X
I drove up with Jen Laughlin and had the worst traffic I've ever experienced driving up to New England. I was exhausted by the time I made it to our Airbnb. And then we were joined by Charlie S. and JP...my European trip buddies.
I wasn't expecting much from this weekend since I haven't been able to train at all for the past few months. But, things went well. I didn't make any navigational mistakes, but it was tough going. The woods were full of downed trees and boulders, and the ski slopes had tall, thick grass. So no one (except maybe Peggy and Chiori) was flying through the woods.
The happiest part of my day was talking to Peter Gagarin after he had run Brown X!! It was so great to see him out orienteering again. And, as always, he gave me good advice about life.
