My siblings decided that I was the safest person to go visit Mom and Don. No one has been up there since this whole thing started and while we talk to them frequently, there's nothing like seeing them in person.
They are actually doing just fine. Mom stays home and Don only ventures out to pick up some groceries. Their local store is pretty well-stocked except for the normal low levels of paper goods. I brought up a few dinners, some pastries, chocolate chip cookies and a lemon blueberry pound cake. While Don is good at cooking dinners, I don't think he is much of a baker. And Mom loves her sweets.
We talked a lot, played some cards, and tried to go for a walk on the canal, but despite the cooler temps and grey skies, it was packed. So Mom and I turned around and headed home. I'll try to get up there again in a few weeks.
While we were on the canal, we saw these flowers. We both knew what they were, but could not remember their name. It drove us crazy! But Google helped out...Dutchman's Breeches.
