Stretching 10:00 [2]

Strength Training 10:00 [3]

10 AM

Hiking 47:30 [3] 1.71 mi (27:47 / mi) +323m 17:31 / mi

I went exploring in Lory State Park today and climbed Arthur's Rock. The hiking went better than I thought it would; my breathing is much better. But the navigation was a fail. On the way up, I completely missed a sign on a switchback that pointed right to Arthur's Rock summit and left to meet up with two other trails.

So I continued on the switchback to the left and soon came to a signpost with arrows for the two other trails and my trail just seemed to end. I looked around for a side trail that went up onto the rock, but couldn't find one. I was thinking, "That's pretty anti-climactic" and started to head back down. At that switchback, another group headed out on the summit trail and then I realized what I had done. Doh!

The view from the summit was fantastic, but for some reason, Flickr isn't recognizing it as a valid file. So here is the view from the false summit:

Hiking 54:22 [3] 1.85 mi (29:23 / mi) +20m 28:27 / mi

Up to the summit and then down again. The trail was fairly busy, but not annoyingly so.

Running 30:47 [3] 2.14 mi (14:23 / mi) +7m 14:15 / mi

I did a celebration run around CSU!! And smiled the whole time.

It really is a nice campus, and it's interesting to see the evolution of the buildings from the east side (older) to the west side (newer). I mostly wanted to see the stadium up-close. There was a lot of controversy when that got built. It is quite impressive.

And it's a very bike-friendly campus:

Cam the Ram and I had a celebratory selfie:

Hiking 38:08 [3] 2.1 mi (18:09 / mi) +14m 17:48 / mi

Beginning to explore. Went for a short hike to check out some trails. This was perfect -- the smell of the west, magpies, prairie dogs. I felt like I was home again.

Hiking 48:59 [3] 2.44 mi (20:04 / mi)

I went for a walk around town to get out and enjoy the weather. It was a crazy day at work.

I was a couple of blocks away from my flat when I realized I had forgotten to take a mask, so I double backed to get one. Then I headed to the post office to scope out my new PO box, how to get to it, and to check if I had any mail yet. I did not.

Then I headed to the library because I had signed up for a library card and had submitted a print job and wanted to pick it up. Unfortunately, the library closed yesterday for extensive cleaning after an employee had tested positive for Covid, and will open later this week.

And then I walked home.

Stretching 20:00 [2]

3 PM

Running 30:01 [3] 2.17 mi (13:50 / mi)

Another beautiful day. Warm temps and bright sunshine, but still with some snow patches here and there. This run felt a little better.

I'm working east coast hours, so I'm finished each day at 3:00 -- or I should be. Hopefully this will give me a better chance of getting something done in the late afternoon.
