Went for a hike at Neale Woods Nature Center with Caitlin on an absolutely tremendous day. This area was deceptively steep.

I'm in Omaha for the weekend to see Caitlin and to pick up Annie. I'm moving into a bigger short-term lease place on Sunday and can have Annie again.

I needed to run 4 miles for the Fort Collins virtual Turkey Trot, so I just continued the C25K intervals until I got to 4 miles. It was a beautiful day, although a little chilly. I ran over the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge, which connects Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA, and then a little extra on each side. In the middle of the bridge, there's a marking to show the state line:



There were also a few cool markers on the Iowa side:





I was afraid I was going to get a parking ticket because I parked in the National Parks Visitor Center lot, which was supposed to be just for visitor center visitors. But the center is temporarily closed, so I was hoping it would be safe, and it was.

This did not feel so great. And the trail was pretty muddy, the clumpy kind, so I had to stop a few times to try to knock off the clumps.

The foothills were white with some overnight snow.
