Running 30:05 [3] 2.16 mi (13:56 / mi) +12m 13:42 / mi
An early run before going to see Don for my morning visit. As for an update, he's doing remarkably well. We are 9 days out from the stroke, which initially immobilized his entire right side, and he is walking with a walker, and lifting and bending his arm. His speech is improving everyday, but he can still be difficult to understand at times. We are patiently waiting for his brain to reroute around the dead spot and reconnect again on the other side.
For the first few days, his spirit was completely crushed. He was not hopeful for a good outcome and had almost given up. But with the progress he's made over the last week, he sees that he can recover and get back to a productive life. He's anxious to get out of the hospital (of course) and get back home to Mom. The scheduled discharge date is June 11, and that shouldn't change.
We are all hopeful and hoping for the best.
