Trail Run 40:00 [3] 7 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2006, gra
Warmup (25 min) and cooldown (15 min looking for my hat) at Lake Elmo. Trails had about 2 in of snow, and earlier in the morning at least, a lot of ski tracks. However, it wasn't a good day to use your new pair of skis.
Orienteering 33:48 [4] * 4.6 km (7:21 / km)

New best time on the long POC. More importantly, this was my first real off trail run since the ankle injury - with good results. I'm going to be conservative and wrap it for PT next weekend, though.

While I was out between 10:30 -11:30 I saw three separate groups of parent + kid(s) doing the POCs - 2 on the beginner and 1 on the intermediate. It seems to be pretty popular.

Thursday Nov 24

Machine Workout 30:00 [3]
1/2 hour on the cardio-glide before T-Day dinner. Too cold and windy to run (wind chills near 0). Of course, I'll be enjoying such temperatures a couple months from now, once there's snow on the ground.

Wednesday Nov 23

Road Run 23:10 [3] 5 km (4:38 / km)
shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2006, gra
Basic 5K Jefferson-Lex loop on a cold and very windy day (~20-25 mph NW wind)

Sunday Nov 20

Hiking 1:15:00 [2]
Hike at Lowes Creek Park near Eau Claire. Checked out some of the MTB trails from the Chippewa Valley race back in June.
Trail Run 14:00 [4] 3.2 km (4:22 / km)
shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2006, gra
Hard run on pretty level ground (Lowes creek ski loops) Ankle felt fine.

Saturday Nov 19

Trail Run 1:04:00 [3] 7.6 mi (8:25 / mi)
Ran River Bottoms with Mark, Cedar to 35 and back. Ankle wrapped and it held strong, even on uneven ground.

Wednesday Nov 16

Hiking (Ankle rehab) 30:00 [1]
Neighborhood walk

Tuesday Nov 15

Hiking (Ankle rehab) 30:00 [2]
Neighborhood walk

Monday Nov 14

Note
It seems the first blast of winter has arrived! Time to get the skis out of storage. (The first couple of snows will probably melt to mush, though - the ground is too warm.)

Sunday Nov 13

Hiking (Ankle Rehab) 1:00:00 [2] 2.5 mi (24:00 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2006, gra
Trail walk through Minnehaha and the dog park, went slowly over the uneven areas. Feeling quite good.

Saturday Nov 12

Paddling (kayak) 3:00:00 [2] 6.0 mi (29:59 / mi)
Paddled up the Miss from downtown Champlin, up the Rum River. Got to play in a little fast water (not white tho!) just below the Rum River Dam, then portaged around it and paddled up past the sanitarium through sunset. Turned around and had a fast downstream paddle back. Took some more PQ video.

Friday Nov 11

Hiking (Ankle Rehab) 20:00 [1] 1.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Montrail hiking boots
Another neighborhood walk.

Thursday Nov 10

Hiking (Ankle Rehab) 20:00 [1] 1.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Denver Salomons
Walked around the neighborhood. Ankle little sore after, stiff in the mornings - just what I'd expect. Bruising is starting to lighten up.

Sunday Nov 6

Note
Hyland O-meet (Minnegoat)
Ropes 45:00 [2]
Well, I can pretty much walk as long as the ankle is wrapped up, but it's a little lopsided. Went out to do some rappel and ascending work at Taylors Falls. Dan and Rebecca joined Mark and I and we shot some video and still photos to edit into our PQ team tape.

Friday Nov 4

Orienteering race 20:00 [4] *** 2.9 km (6:54 / km)
spiked:9/9c (injured) shoes: Denver Salomons
4th and last Wirth Park adventure run - Night-O. From the 9th to 10th control, I was leading by 2:00 over Graham when I stepped in a bad rut and sprained my right ankle. Unable to put weight on it, and I had to DNF. However, it seems like the injury isn't is bad as the one in 2004 at SLOC's spring A-meet. Unfoturnately, I'm out for the Minnegoat on Sunday :( but might be racing again in 2-3 weeks.
