Sprint - Splits

Friday May 20

MTB (technical) 55:00 [3]
Lebanon Hills is still closed due to the solid week of rain, so I did four loops at Terrace Oaks. Two loops, then a high intensity road bike around Burnsville, back to the park for two more loops.
MTB (road) 25:00 [4]

Wednesday May 18

Trail Run 24:00 [3] * 4.6 km (5:13 / km)
shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2005)
Trail run in the rain at Sunfish Lake, warmup
Orienteering 55:47 [3] *** 4.9 km (11:23 / km)
spiked:9/11c shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2005)
Reprise of the 4/24 Night-O, in the daytime. Not really any easier, especially near the end of the course where the contours were USGS quality... ech (added a star for that.) Not to mention the wait-a-minute bushes. Oh, and the complete absence of anything to tell me I was at the right control location, except for sketchy contours. Completely soaked through at the end but at least it was warm enough.

Saturday May 14

REI Mad Dash AR - Madison, WI
Orienteering race (Adv Race) 2:20:00 [3] *** 8.0 mi (17:29 / mi)
spiked:15/16c shoes: Montrail Vitesse II (2005)
Pretty solid orienteering courses (2x, one yellow/orange level and one green level) during the REI Mad Dash AR in Madison. Walked the 2nd course with my team and still beat some of the running teams ;)
MTB (road) race (Adv Race) 3:50:00 [3] ** 40.0 mi (5:44 / mi)
Road bike section of REI Mad Dash AR. 15-20 mph west wind and sleet was enough to keep the drivers home, never mind the bikers. Without a doubt the crappiest AR weather I've had to date.
Paddling (canoe) race (Adv Race) 2:15:00 [4] * 8.0 mi (16:52 / mi)
Paddle out to an O-course, return the same way on Lake Mendota in Madision WI. Due to wind it was twice as long in as out (1+ ft chop, stiff headwind and sleet moving in.) VERY cold.
Ropes race (Adv Race) 20:00 [4]
Big climbing wall and zip line at the REI Mad Dash AR. Tiring but fun.
