Taping controls and making some corrections on the long course. There's definitely an increase of the area covered by buckthorn, and to a lesser extent, sumac.

Run around the sprint course to establish a benchmark time. Ran a little below race pace to compensate for knowing the route ahead of time. Splits 28, 32, 59, 32, 30, 59, 51, 40, 35, 76, 18, 62, 41, 86, 62, 55.

Messing around on the North Shore - at Temperance River and various spots on the way back. Also checked out Hemlock Ravine near Jay Cooke - the only remaining stand of eastern hemlock in MN.
