Note

Left eye swollen this morning from a branch poke yesterday. Skipped the morning event and drove home early.

Orienteering race 2:17:00 [4] *** 15.8 km (8:40 / km) +300m 7:55 / km
spiked:20/22c shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D (2007, gray)

Minnegoat at Pillsbury. Good run, but a bit hectic at the beginning. The pack exploded at #9 - Justin gained a couple minutes on me there, and stretched it to about 7 minutes by the end. Didn't see anyone else for the whole rest of the race. Ian and Jerritt came in a little while after, but within seconds of each other.

Orienteering (night-O) 58:20 [3] *** 5.0 km (11:40 / km) +100m 10:36 / km
spiked:7/11c

1 hour night score-O. Feeling tired and not concentrating well. Ran with a pack at first, then with Ian and Jerritt for a while. Fell at least 10 times, and found out later my headlamp was slowly failing. Lots of little things conspired for a sucky performance (external factors were by no means all of it, they just didn't help.)

Orienteering (control retrieval) 15:00 [2] *** 1.5 km (10:00 / km)
spiked:3/3c shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D (2007, gray)

I'm counting these because it was at night and raining steadily so I had to take my glasses off. That was an interesting change of perception.
