34, 52, 77, 66, 22, 63, 43.

Earl woke me up at 5am. We quickly ate breakfast and headed out.

34. Skipped the reentrant and attacked from the Red Pine. At this point it was clear Earl’s legs were done. We were hoping some sleep would help them, but it didn’t work.

52. Wasted time staying too high in the streambed because we didn’t read the clue.

77. I tested my legs and ran to the top of the hill. Legs and body were fine, I felt rested enough that I could have ran all morning.

66. Way easier than I thought. Map did not show how distinct the saddle was.

22. There were trails from 66 all the way to 22.

63. Trails into the ravine and then South to the control. Ran into Alexis and then Gary. Earl’s mind was solid, his legs were not. He could still pace count with impressive accuracy.

43. We crawled our way up to it. I was worried. We had left the tow setup in camp this morning and Earl didn’t look good.

43 to Finish. Slow hike up something that resembled a trail.

This was a great experience for me. I learned a lot and this prepared me for future Rogaines.

Feet were still 100%, no blisters, no hot spots, they were just dirty.

Legs were still above 75%. Not sure that I could have run a marathon, but there wasn’t anything to indicate that they were fatigued.
