running warm up/down 50:00 [2]

good run to the start and then accelerations back and forth a bit until my start. soooo excited to race this one!!! i was so bubbly at the start!! i think olivier and sim kindaaa maybe laughed at me, but oh well :))

orienteering 33:16 [5] 4.7 km (7:05 / km) +100m 6:24 / km

whoaaa man!! what a race!!! i felt sooo fabulous out there it was unbelievable!!! The first 4 controls were a bit bingo in the middle of the green, the first 2 i took pretty safely and then the other 2 were just on the edge of complete disaster!! ohlala! i lost a bit of time with hesitations cause i was terrified of ending up running around in aimless circles looking for the posts, but i had a lil luck and was able to see the features amidst all the green. From 5 to 6 I had trouble getting through the green and therefore ended up with quite the zig zaggy route which definitely cost some time but I was never completely lost... just a bit off bearing :P The rest of the course I absolutely shattered!!! oh boy it was so sick!! At breatfast Olivier commented that during the sprint he could see that the top runners were really giving it there all, while the rest were just kinda half-bumming it. So no slacking off during this race! Pushed the pace right to the end and I managed to not make any silly errors at the end due to lack of concentration. I'm also learning to take the safer trail routes when I know they'll pay off which I think helped a lot. Superrr happy with this race expecially since I placed within one minute behind Sarina and just 5s behind Julia. It was like a little mini jwoc and i definitely felt like i held my own.

Once i get around to doing my laundry I'll make use of Thierry's scanner and get the maps jpeg-ified. Until then here are the Results

running 1:00:00 [2]

a bit of a jog in the morning, plus warmup and cooldown for the sprint.

orienteering 15:33 [5] 2.2 km (7:04 / km) +35m 6:33 / km

soooo usually sprints aren't my thing, but pulled out a real good one this weekend and represented canada not to shabbilly.
Right off the get-go, as in 1 millisecond after i found the start triangle on the map and after i had already passed the start flag in real life, i realized i was supposed to turn left -1 millisecond ago... oops. the whole course actually felt a bit like that. the controls were just so close together it was almost impossible to make decisions and still know where i was going. it was quite stressful actually :P Apart from some hesitations while trying to figure out what on earth was going on I'm pretty happy with my route choices :) I managed to read ahead enough to at least kinda know how i was supposed to exit the control and i even read my control descriptions :)))) Visiting the town earlier in the morning also helped with the final loop since we had figured out all the tricky tunnel-y stuff so that when i was sprinting at full speed through it... it was a piece of cake!! :)
Superrr surprised with my Result but heyy maybe i could make sprints my thing ;)

vélo 25:00 [3]

laundry day... and oh man doing laundry once a month is really tough on the back!

running 40:00 [3] 5.5 km (7:16 / km) +200m 6:09 / km
ahr:150 max:182

tapering for the weekend so i just did a quick loop up on top of the hill... unfortunately i lost track of my trails and ended up going through a huge patch of ronces which resulted in some very uncomfortable perforations... legs felt a bit tired on the hills but impec on the flats. hopefully it'll be a good weekend :)
