| Being the last day of 2006 I decided to put together my top 5 races that I competed in this year. These were based on level of competition, quality of maps and courses and the general orienteering experience.
1. Junior World Orienteering Championships Druskininkai, Lithuania It was a great experience to compete against the best junior orienteerers in the world as well as run on some excellent courses, maps and terrain. 2. Swiss Orienteering Week Zermatt, Switzerland The most scenic orienteering event that I have attended by far. It is not every day that you get to take gondolas to orienteering races and run alongside the Matterhorn and glaciers. 3. North American Orienteering Championships Milton, Ontario, Canada The best organized event that I have been to in Canada. The GHO crew really had this down to every detail. 4. World Orienteering Championships Tour Aarhus, Denmark The maps were flawless and the courses fantastic. It was also allot of fun the watch some of the WOC races. 5. Fin5 Juensuu, Finland I really enjoyed the terrain at this event which contained many small hills, depressions and some boulders. | ||

| Checking out the Shawnee Mission Park permanent course at Shawnee Mission, Kansas. This permanent course is said to be the largest in the US with 75 controls. Went to 10 controls with steveng. It was frustrating at times not being able to see the small markers or being on the wrong side of a tree. | ||
