| I competed in a much smaller number of major events this year, so I will do my top 3 events of the year. These were based on level of competition, quality of maps and courses and the general orienteering experience.
1. Moose Creek Splash/2007 Canadian Team Trials (west) Bragg Creek/Seebe, Alberta Great organizatin, maps, terrain and a high level of competition. 2. Canadian Orienteering Championships, Saskatoon/Duck Lake, Saskatchewan Well done job by the SOA crew, especially since it was the first major event in Saskatchewan. 3 World Ranking Events in some challenging small depression terrain. 3. Colorado 5 Days, Peaceful Valley/Woodland Park, Colorado Great maps and courses. Physically challenging courses with the competitions between 2,666-3,100 meters above sea level. | ||

| Two head to head races of an obstacle course. The course went like this...skate from one end of the ice, drop and touch the ice at the first markers, quickly get up and jump at 2 foot marker within 5 meters of being on the ice, turn right (1st run) or left (2nd run) around 2 markers, turn back towards the start/finish, do a 360 at the last markers and state to the finish at the Red Bull arch. On my first run the guy I was racing beat me by less then .05 seconds, but on the second run turning on my better side (left) I beat him by .7 seconds with a time of 13.73. Winning time was 12.43 and fifth qualifying time to go to Quebec City was 12.81. Lots of fun and happy with my time, but I would have liked to go to Quebec. Placed 32/74, .92 seconds back of the 5th qualifying time. | ||
