I woke up at 4:20 am. and maDe my way 15 km. into Chantaburi city via motorcycle. I arrived at the start area and warmed-up. I lined-up at the front of the pack. The gun went off and I quickly found myself behind one guy, then I passed him and I was in the lead (briefly). Then a number of runners passed me. I was not feeling that fast or strong and overall I felt tired early on into the race. The wet slippery road did not help! Around the 7 km. mark it started to rain hard, which lasted until around the 9 km. mark. I took a gel at the 9 km. mark and I got a little bit of a boost in energy. I rounded the U-turn at the 10.6 km. mark and made my way back towards Chantaburi city. I noticed some people setting-up an arch and some tents as the runners ran by (did they sleep in?). I got passed by two runners in the 16-29 age group between the 13-15 km. marks. I took another gel at the 17 km. mark I crossed the finished line in 27th place overall and 5th in the 16-29 age group.
