Orienteering race (Orienteering) 1:33:00 [4] 6.9 km (13:29 / km)

I started off strong until point 4, where I lost my direction in the swamp and then spent 45 minutes or so trying to figure out where my control was (only to discover that I was next to it). I ran around it several times. Attacked it from different angles, decided I was potentially on a parallel feature several times. Only to re-attack it and I only found it because I heard another Orienteer yell "OH!" and ran towards me and I discovered that it was right next to me. That was frustrating.

Afterwards, I had a decent race where I wasn't ever lost, but I was pretty tired from the 45 minute black hole. I also ran through two more swamps which sucked (there was no other route choices around it).

Finished the relay and passed it to Kevin. I lost our lead as 23rd so I feel pretty crappy but I intend to train hard and redeem myself next year.

Orienteering long (Orienteering) 3:15:00 [5] 13.0 km (15:00 / km)

I ran at least 13km but I didn't finish the race. I ended up cramping really bad and that made me have to walk the rest of the race. I could of finished, but I figured it'd be better to save my energy and not kill myself so that I can do well on the relay.

I feel pretty bad about it. Finland is kicking my butt.

Orienteering (Orienteering) 1:02:25 [4] 5.9 km (10:35 / km)

I'm not happy with the results because it wasn't 10/km, but I'm proud that I didn't follow anyone and I performed well on some of the splits.

I made several mistakes and that was usually right after I performed a really good leg and got excited. I just need to stay calm and I think I'll do really well in the coming races.
