Sunday Dec 23

Note
Rosaryville, before leaving town?
Hiking 2:30:00 [3]
Logged portion of a morning spent in Rosaryville before heading south to the Outer Banks. Mostly covering the perimeters of patches of thick vegetation while filling in the last large unsurveyed piece of terrain south of the Mount Airy mansion and west of the power transmission line cut.

Saturday Dec 22

Note
Christmas Caper 5K? Harder than expected since they appear to have moved it to Belle Haven Park in Alexandria. Then out to Rosaryville? Or could stay in town and do museums with Dan, though Sunday morning in Rosaryville then just about obligatory.
Cycling 26:00 [3]
Non-Metro bits of getting to and from race plus side trip to post office.
Running race 16:56 [5] 5 km (3:23 / km) +10m 3:21 / km vdot: 60.5
PVTC Christmas Caper 5K - third overall.

Friday Dec 21

Cycling 57:00 [3]
Cycling to work and back.
Note
Have now financially committed to Anza-Borrego - cheapest way having waited until now turned out to be flying there with Southwest and back with Jet Blue. I don't recall quite what the fares I was seeing a few weeks ago for the round trip on Orbitz were but those flights appear to have filled and the round trip can't have come in much cheaper than this. Plus this way I don't have to get to the airport in time for a 6am flight.

I'm still in the market for anyone who wants to camp at the meet site and share a rental car from San Diego airport - my flights will be arriving around noon on Friday and leaving at 10:20pm on Sunday.

Addendum: at least, if no one wants to share a rental car with me, it appears San Diego is a dirt cheap place to rent a car - first time I've ever seen a base rate of $10 per day and the additional fees don't even come to much.

Thursday Dec 20

Cycling 57:00 [3]
Cycling to work. Straight home afterwards.
Running 9:00 [1]
Warmup and cooldown with Dan.
Form exercises 28:17 [4]
Silly walks, 8x10 second hill sprints, 3x100m strides and last longer hill with Dan looking on. No lunges this time for fear of impact on race on Saturday.

Wednesday Dec 19

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]
Cycling to work. Home by way of the Chevy Chase branch of the library.

Tuesday Dec 18

Cycling 1:01:00 [3]
Cycling to work. Home by way of the Cleveland Park library to get Dan something to read.
Running 6:32 [1]
Warmup/cooldown.
Form exercises 28:59 [4]
Pretty much a replay of Friday's workout but I must either have been slower or have devoted more time to the silly walks.

Monday Dec 17

Cycling 1:02:00 [3]
Cycling to work. Winds fortunately much slower than they were overnight. Home by way of TPSS.
