The day's utilitarian cycling - home to Van Ness Metro, Rockville Metro to Lake Frank, Lake Frank to the AFI Silver to see For A Few Dollars More, then home.

Searching the woods on the other side of 155 from Lake Frank for wavyleaf basketgrass plus dropping in on the Meadowside Center to rendezvous with Howie Weinstein, who did a similar survey on the south side of Lake Frank.

Midsummer Night’s Mile

Commute.

On getting home from work, immediately out onto the trails of Rock Creek Park to get in a run before darkness fell. Out to the equestrian center on Western Ridge, then down to the park police station and back home via the Valley Trail.

Commute and other easier cycling getting to PCRM then home.

CCT time trial - slow, again, but this time I can blame some of it on the fact that the heavens opened and dropped a deluge on me about halfway through. No high winds as when the front came through on Tuesday evening while I was riding out to Potomac but very heavy rain, enough to seriously compromise visibility (would have been better if I'd been wearing contacts, although then I'd probably have been getting a little bit of water sprayed into my eyes from the front wheel).

Commute to work plus riding out to Potomac for QOC board meeting then home again after Nadim dropped me off at Tenleytown. Heavens opened on me ~1 hr earlier than forecast and about a mile before reaching the Old Anglers Inn, so got delayed a bit and thoroughly soaked.
