Well, I'm definitely getting sick or fighting something off. I went to the gym with the intention of doing a 6 mi tempo run and wound up doing a 2 mi tempo run with a 3 mi warm/cool because at my tempo pace I was sweating profusely and felt like I was going to pass out/puke. Oh well, it happens to the best of us, right? Now this gives me an excuse to eat some dinner, crawl into bed, and finish reading my Jane Austen novel without too much guilt.

It was snowing out fairly steadily so I decided to wear my gortex innov8's. They kept my feet nice and dry. My road shoes would have been soaked by 5 miles. My legs were dead by the end of the run. I must have run pretty hard yesterday.

Not a bad time for a half marathon on the fly with a few or five good hills thrown in and running in a fair amount of slippery slush. I felt really good. I expected my legs to feel heavy after my tempo run and lower body workout yesterday but the opposite was true. It felt like I was cruising with very little effort.

I did a progression run on the treadmill. I wanted to do 7mi in 60min. I started at 9min/mi and worked up to 7:40/mi and keeping it there for 2 mi. I mostly wanted to do a treadmill run today to try out my new Lululemon running shorts, which are freaking awesome. They're comfortable and they have 3, that's right 3 pockets in them. I'm sure they'll be worn to many races next year.

I'm super sore from my workout on saturday at the gym. I did a few too many walking lunges, so I did a short easy run today. My foot was bothering me a bit too. I can't quite figure it out, there's something about the Ride's that my foot isn't liking but it's a little too cold and snowy out to wear the fast twitches. Ben is hurt again, which makes me sad. I'm missing my running partner.

Ran at Veterans Acres in Crystal Lake with the Mudd runners. there was about 3 or so inches of snow on the ground but the crosslites handled it beautifully. My foot didn't do so well though. Running in the snow aggravated it a bit so I only got in two loops. Oh well, it gave me time to go run some errands while Ben finished his run.

Ran at the Ridge after a light dusting of snow. I wore my NB 100's to see how my feet would do in them and surprise, surprise - my feet were fine! Unfortunately with a little snow and a layer of leaves on the ground it made it hard to get traction. I think the 100's seriously suck in the traction dept. I wish they would make a sacrifice to the oz gods and put some freaking lugs on them already. Anton wonders why he strained a calf muscle running on snow? It's because the shoes he designed have no traction. Don't get me wrong I love them for the fit, feel, and speed they give me, but when I'm sliding around and using a ton of energy just to propel me forward and keep myself upright, it kinda sucks. Rant over

Last class of the session means - ball class. Unfortunately I wasn't that excited about it since I'm 5 days into a six day working streak and I normally go to bed at 8pm now and class starts at 7:30. I yawned the whole time and literally flopped myself into poses. Oh well. I think it's time to take a break from yoga classes anyway. I've been going for over a year and I'm not getting that much out of it anymore. Perhaps some distance will make me appreciate it more.
