Running (trails) 3:42:00 [3] 18.3 mi (12:08 / mi)
shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite

Ran 365 in ABQ. I did 9 miles with Ben at a very easy pace and then I met up with Sus and Ryan, some ABQ running royalty, and gasped behind them for another two hours. It was soooo nice to run in nice weather and sunshine even if it did kick my ass.

I used Vespa for the first time today. It's a little hard to tell if it did much of anything but I only used one gu and I didn't ever feel to amazingly tired other than running way too fast in high elevation up mountains. We'll have to see.

Running (trails) 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

Ran along the Rio Grande bike path with Ben. We stopped to look at all the cranes in the fields next to the river.

Running (roads) 1:09:30 [3] 8.0 mi (8:41 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

I went to my brother's and had him work on my psoas today. Wouldn't you know it, my run today was the best I have felt in a long time. I didn't have the usual tightness in my right hip that reaches up into my lower back. It's such a familiar pain that it was almost odd not feeling it.

Running intervals (treadmill) 1:08:00 [3] 8.0 mi (8:30 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Fast Twitch 4

2 mi warm up, 1mi @ 8:00, 3 x 7:19, 1/2 mi cool

I did the 8 min mile to see where I was as far as speedwork goes. It felt easy so I bumped it up to the 7:19, which was not so easy.

Running (treadmill) 1:30:00 [3] 10.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Fast Twitch 4

Way too cold to run outside today. My hips felt a little better today too. I found a good psoas stretch online. It's a little scary to do but it actually works. It involves poking a big stick into your abdomen next to your hip bone and then extending the leg on the same side. I guess it's kinda like doing ART on yourself.

Running (roads) 1:12:00 [3] 8.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

It would have been nice to have some antifreeze mainlined into my veins today. Man, was it cold! I'm really trying to take it easy on my poor hips so I'm running a little bit slower this week.

Yoga 40:00 [3]

Nice, slow, deep stretching practice to get to that tight psoas that is just about nearly impossible to get to relax once it's started freaking out.

Running (roads) 1:10:00 [3] 8.0 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

Well, my psoas issues from last year are back. At least I know how to deal with it now and I can put a plan into action asap. I know it's from all the road running, but what can I do?
