Running (trails) 3:46:00 [3] 19.05 mi (11:52 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Stinson

Run on IAT from Scuppernog to the South forest headquarters. It wound up being mostly through the dreaded Kettle meadows. Oh, they are horrible! Very little shade and I think all of the worlds humidity is concentrated in that 10 mi area. Ben and I were drenched head to toe with sweat and I now have some of the worst chafing I have ever gotten besides VT100 last year. I drank 70 oz of water on the return 9mi trip alone. This was with out a doubt a character building run. On the bright side, my feet did wonderful!

Running (trails) 3:08:00 [3] 18.0 mi (10:27 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Stinson

2 loops on the Nordic trail. I felt amazingly good and I even did the second loop 5 min faster than the first loop, even with stopping to talk and walk with Lisa G for a couple min when I ran into her on the second loop. My training is starting to come together.

Running (roads) 1:15:00 [3] 8.4 mi (8:56 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

I felt good today. The kinvaras felt a little flat at first after running in the hokas the last two days but after a little warm up period things went smooth. I'm thinking that the hokas are kind of like training wheels for me. They allow me the confidence to get a normal foot strike back.

Running (trails) 52:00 [3] 4.25 mi (12:14 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Group run at VA. Everyone was especially in a lazy, lollygagging mood today. I think we spent more time talking and drinking beer in the parking lot after the run than we did actually running. Oh well

Running (trails) 1:54:00 [3] 11.23 mi (10:09 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Stinson

Group run at Rock Cut. They all run so fast there. It was really more like a tempo work out. There were also a good amount of down trees to climb over, under, through. The storm damage at Rock Cut wasn't as bad as I thought though. The hokas worked great on the trails too.

Running (roads) 1:40:00 [3] 11.2 mi (8:56 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Stinson

first time out in the Hokas. Not too bad. It was nice to bomb down hills like in the past without worrying about my foot hurting. I will be so happy if these shoes help me to finally get rid of my stupid tendonitis. I don't care if they look silly.

Running (roads) 1:35:00 [3] 9.8 mi (9:42 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara

Another hot, slow run. It's hard to not get discouraged by slow times this time of summer, but I have to remember that I need to focus on mileage and feeling comfortable doing it.
