Ben and I did an out and back on the IAT from hwy 12 south to Rice lake x3. It's a really hilly and technical section so the going was slow today. I didn't really feel well the majority of the run either. I was really low energy and my stomach was a little out of sorts. About 4 miles from the end I suddenly felt great. That's the first time that has ever happened to me, that I felt like crap and then came out of it during a run. Then it started to pour buckets of rain on us. The trail turned into a stream. It was so much fun.

Running (trails) 1:49:00 [3] 11.3 mi (9:39 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Mafate

Group run at Rock Cut. What a beautiful day! I felt awesome and flew down the trails in my new Hoka's. I had to buy another pair because the Stinson's were giving me blisters because they are too big. I think these ones will be perfect for Sawtooth.

Running (roads) 1:46:00 [3] 11.2 mi (9:28 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Stinson

Deerpass/Collins route. It was a lovely morning, cool but sunny. I had a little DOMS from Sunday's run but it went away once I got warmed up. I felt great at the end and picked up the pace a bit.

It's amazing what a drop in temperature will do. I didn't even think I was capable of going that fast anymore. My left knee and shin were a little sore on the run but it didn't hinder me at all.
