Swim - Open water race (IMCDA 2014 Swim) 59:15 [3] *** 4.1 km (14:27 / km)

Took the swim easy.
Choppy water.
Swam off course on the second lap, adding an extra 300m.
Still a decent time considering I swam off course and took it easy.

Looking forward to redeeming myself in Arizona

Cycling - Time Trial bike race (IMCDA 2014 Bike) 6:18:35 [4] **** 180.0 km (2:06 / km)

WINDY bike.
Headwinds out and Tailwinds back on the I-95.
-L quad hurting immediately on the ride, within the first hour. 31.5 km /h avg on that section
-52/36 front crank with a 28 tooth chain ring. May need to switch back to a 53/39
-Compression shorts may be hindering my quads. I never got any pain wearing bike shorts during training.
-I was definitely not in shape for this bike ride.
-dialed it back from there.

-Nutrition: 3 gels and hour, 1 water bottle, a bar of some sort every hour.
Didn't use much IM perform. May have been my downfall, but I was worried about an upset stomach.

Run - outside (IMCDA 2014 Run) 5:00:26 [4] **** 26.2 mi (11:28 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Rapa Nui

Walked the last 4 miles.
Goal: Easy first 6 miles. Miles 6-20 at IM pace, hang on from miles 20-26

Nutrition: Water in the palm holder, Red bull & 1/2 gel at every aid station.
Still need to work on nutrition.

I hit the wall at mile 20, and had a hard time getting running after that.
*Shoes were not very good (too big, a bit uncomfortable). Won't do that again, try new shoes a month before a race.

Threw up after a few hours of finishing, as well as back at the hotel.
