Did an early morning hike and jog with the dogs before work and the PM departure for canoe trip. Beautiful pre-dawn atmosphere, heavy dew on the grass. Had a few stops to take photos. I love that time between night and day.

Namekagon Whispering Pines Landing to Camp 16.5
5:02 PM; Namekagon River

12.5 °C; Clear
Easy drive up and good timing between our and Craig's arrival. He got there with the Jack's Canoe Renal guy in tow, whom we had hired to shuttle us just as we were done loading our canoes. Helped Craig to empty his car and had me and Ben leave to shuttle the cars to Riverside. about 50 minutes RT with the friendly guy from Jack's. Shoved off a little after 4:00 PM and made good progress. Targeted sites were taken, one by a group of women who tempted us with siren calls of screw drivers, wine and calls like "We are married but they're not here!" Needless to say that we resisted by tying our hads to the paddles, sealing our ears with hemp and wax and continuing on. Made it to camp by 5:00. Steak dinner with manhattans for dessert. Life is good!
