Nice afternoon helping out at Three Rivers Parks/MNOC/REI Orienteering Skill Development Clinic at Hyland Park Reserve. Fun to introduce some new folks to our wonderful sport. And run a sprint course with a stinker for a first CP, due to my own errors, of course. The others went smoothly.

Summer-like evening, Mellie was hot and so was I. Some deer near Como Pool, Mellie had a great time chasing. Trying out my new trail-runners: Innov-8 Roclite 319. My first imprssion: sturdy, heavily lugged sole, thick protective padding all around but little cushioning. They will be hot in the summer but great on or off trail. From what I can tell there will be no issue with heel blisters like with my Mudclaws.
