Beautiful morning for a run after a number of rainy days in Belgium and the UK. The masses were on their way to work, on foot, by bike and public transport. Both bridges' sidewalks were so busy that I had to hop into the street when traffic allowed. The banks of the Thames were less crowded.

Picking up our tickets for show tonight at Windhams Theater, then to Royal Opera, Covent Garden Market and to the Tate Museum, along the river. Lucky with weather, it was supposed to rain around midday.

Headed home back to hotel the Tate. Tired legs after lots of walking inside the museum as well. Just a short rest, then off, to high tea at the Ritz and People, Places and Things at Windhams Theatre. For that, we took the tube to the Ritz and walked to the Windhams and back to hotel after the show, which was super good.

Nice run down memory lane, my daily way to school, past my parent's house and through many spots from my childhood.

Lynn's preparing for her conference presentation so I explored the vicinity on my own, scouting out some running opportunities and places to visit, like the Tate. It rained intermittently, too warm to wear a rain jacket. Very enjoyable morning walk. Heading for Belgium this afternoon.

Had picked out this knoll that would afford a good overlook point. It is also adjacent to a quarry lake, which I wanted to check out. Success on the outlook front, my shameless trespass gave me a beautiful view of the surrounding area, 360 degree. Not so much on the quarry, which I could not see from my vantage point. Getting closer, I saw that the quarry was surrounded by a 10 foot high fence. I was able to outfox the fence, but not the strip of thorn bushes and brambles behind it. Oh well, just have to make do with the satellite image ... To make up for it, I tried out every meadow passage I could find and had sort off run on the wild side.

Less climbing but more distance. Navigation to Lamorna was simple but the stretch back was tricky, especially after I decided to take some foot and bridle paths. ended up in a boggy meadow and had to find my way out through some fields. But I made it. I do find exploring by running very enjoyable, I notice so much more than I do, even when compared to riding my bike.

One of our goals had been to hike from Newlyn to Penzance and back along to Coast Path. Today was the day, cool and overcast. Stopped in Paul to visit the church, stumbled over a Blewett grave (Lynn's family name) right outside the church door. Had a nice seafood lunch in Mousehole, the folks at the table next to ours were talking about Belgium. On to Newlyn Harbor along the coast. Observed the arrival of a fishing boat, and how they unrolled their seine net and carefully re-rolled it, presumably to be read for the next day. After a couple of shop visits we headed up the steep incline, back to our room for some rest.

Super morning, started with a gentle uphill and level, generally NW, thendropping into the Coombe Valley. I found a footpath that cut off a piece from the stretch along A30, which I wasn't particularly keen on running and I quickly got to B3315, along the Coombe creek. During that stretch along A30, I experienced some cramping in my right quads, which fortunately dissipated soon. It has a curb or a footpath along most of the road, and traffic was very light because of the early hour. I ran along the Strand for a short distance and then headed up the steep hill, taking mostly the same route as yesterday.
