06:00 AM. I couldn't believe it, the northerly wind gave me access to the lake! At 09:00, I paddled along the ice edge to the mouth of the Sioux River, and from there to the big rock about halfway between the Onion and Van Tassel's Point. Felt a little wobbly, with the waves coming abeam but got used to it quickly. was wearing the newly purchased NRS Expedition Weight top and bottoms under my dry suit which really helped control the unavoidable sweat.
