Cycling 39:20 intensity: (16:20 @2) + (23:00 @3) 13.01 km (3:01 / km) +64m 2:57 / km

Over dressed a bit for the way the Trans Canada trail it was clear that purp was not going to handle the soft snowed trail so took the long way about adding another 2 km...faster than expected....especially climbing from the TCT
4 PM

Cycling 1:05:45 intensity: (50:00 @1) + (15:45 @2) 13.52 km (4:52 / km) +36m 4:48 / km

Winter storm ride
The ride back was quite a challenge....A few fishtails on the side streets...Tried to stay off the main roads and took the snowy walkways and shoulders...roads OK but the sidewalks were by far the safest so that altered my route plan back...Driving snow and ice pellets but the glasses fogged up so took them off at ~8 km
Gear was was heavy by the end,,,
(data corrected ...stops /walks deleted (~6 minutes)

Cycling 46:49 intensity: (58 @0) + (5:53 @1) + (22:44 @2) + (16:13 @3) + (1:01 @4) 14.1 km (3:19 / km) +49m 3:16 / km
ahr:116 max:144

Colour the map of the neighbourhood...on winterized purp.
Even though I'm cleard for exercise I'm planning on taking a cautious approach and staying off weight bearing stuff for the next few days while the temp is high...though might be tempted to ski Sunday depending on the snow fall

In emergency from 6:20 to 1:00. It was better to come in during the day as I was taken right away and all the needed services were open.Given 600mg of Ibuprofen. The initial blood test showed clotting again (d-dimer ~2000) but an ultrasound of the whole leg found nothing this time. Conclusion: no gout, no plantar fascitis, no break or sprain. Answer: thrombophlebitis ( ..fancy for saying probably a clot or vein irritation in the foot where they don't scan because it would be in peripheral-surface veins with extremely low likelihood of breaking off into circulatory system and getting to the major organs. So no blood thinners this time (had there been a clot I would have been on them for life since its a second unprovoked clotting incident)...Cause unknown...could be the tightness of my X-C boots could be the impacts of the clips to my ankle while doing running snowshoeing could be my history with poor circulation and freezing with winter cold...all seem unlikely since there were no ill effects at the time but the idea is that some trauma was done, my body repaired it and the clotting elements are just taking awhile to clear out due to the part of the body and poor circulation.
Therapy: soak the feet, warm compresses, RICE, pain meds (if I want), activity as I can handle it and normal blood clot warnings to get to the ER if this that or the other thing happens.
Walked back from the QCH through the field to Bayshore and 600 mg of Ibuprofen in the PM

Pain and hobbling continued today...had planned to go into emergency after work but decided to wait a day. Cancelled practice and winter multi. Did some core in the AM.

Monday Jan 20 #

Nothing today....All of a sudden intense pain in the space between inner right ankle and the the plantar part of the foot...coincidently where I was hitting my inner ankle with my snowshoes a few times last week (Jan 12)...Started ~5am worsened when getting out of bed or sitting too long through out the day...after walking the dog in the AM wasn't so bad...worse when walking downtown and in meeting...better after shower and at work. Some icing, light stretching and aspirin in the AM...swelling present but not excessive
Don't really feel like going into emerg to find out its one of the usual suspects...
Blue Monday? :)
