Southern Champs, Hambleden. M45L 10.3km, 390m.
4 mins down on Quentin and 2 behind Alan Velecky. 3rd.
This was not my sort of race; continously fast running with very little technical interest to slow anyone down. Quite pleased with my run until I found out what time Quentin had done! I lost a few seconds on no. 2, 6, 7 and 14 but didn't amount to more than a minute in total. I guess I've probably lost a little fitness due to my injury but doubt I'd have been 4 mins quicker anyway.
Achilles was a little sore at one or two points during the race, but seemed OK afterwards. Left calf was OK for the race but stiffened up again afterwards. Did more warm down than usual to try and help. It will be interesting how everything feels in the morning...

Sat out the JOK Chasing Sprint as I'm still running alternate days. Great spectator event in lovely spring weather so didn't mind too much.

Hades Clough again. Achilles fine. Some stiffness in the other (left) calf though. Maybe I should have got Kim to give that some attention yesterday too?

Rest day. Finally got to see Kim for some more painful massage. Calf a bit sore afterwards, but we're both optimistic that it's well on the road to recovery. Will continue running alternate days for a short while and assess after the Southern Champs on Sunday.

Hades Clough. Achilles fine, although some stiffness at bottom of right calf to start with. Eased off after about 10 mins and everything OK at end of run.

1.5 hours yoga. Included some interesting hip stretches. Getting better at some moves, but still a long way to go...
