Trail running 9:00 [3] 1.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1080v4

Test jog to see what hurts and if I need to take my bike to N Yorks today.
Basically all OK I think. L Achilles still not quite right but soreness is now lower down around the heel bone and eased off once I got moving. Hopefully a steady run around the Short Brown at Dalby today will help rather than make things worse. I will need plenty of tape on my blisters though!

Orienteering race 57:22 [3] 4.0 mi (14:21 / mi)
shoes: VJ Integrator (ex Lulu)

White Rose day 2, Dalby Forest.
M50L, Short Brown 5.9km, 160m.
2 min miss at #1, otherwise pretty clean. Took the maverick route choice down the valley to #18 which appears to have cost me another 3 mins.
Wore Lulu's VJ's again and Achilles was pretty good. Just the odd niggle in some of the rougher stuff.

(rest day)

Recovery day watching sport on the tv and internet.
Achilles just slightly niggly first thing. Ice and stretching.

Note

Day 4 of the long walk home. Snake Inn to Holmbridge via Bleaklow and Black Hill. 18 miles and just over 6 hours moving time. Definitely slower progress due to various feet issues. Also a few worrying Achilles niggles.

Note

The long walk home Day 3. Buxton to the Snake Inn. Not such a nice day and we had fun in the clag crossing the Kinder plateau. See Strava for the gory details. Suffice it to say it wouldn't have happened if I'd remembered to take a compass!
Feet now a real mess. 3rd or 4th skin anyone?
17 miles and 5:30 hours moving time.

Day 2 of the long walk home. Ilam Hall to Buxton via Dove Dale and Hartington with a lunch stop at Longnor. 22 miles in about 7 hours. Feet trashed. Fingers crossed that my Achilles is coping. Time will tell.

Calf strengthening 10:00 [0]

Achilles slightly niggly today. A bit worrying given what I'm doing the next four days. Ice.
