Event: CompassSport Cup Final
 

CompassSport Cup Final, Tankersley.
Blue Mens course, 6.7km, 180m.
Raining first thing so decided to try running with a contact lens. Dried up before my start but kept with the lens solution rather than switching to glasses. Reading the map seemed OK but compromised by slightly blurred view of where I was putting my feet. Need to keep trying.
Overall a bit of a scrappy run. Time loss at #7 (missed the path on the east side of the hill -1 min), #9 (pushed off line by brambles -30 sec), #15 (drifted off bearing and bounced around 2 other pits -1 min), and #29 (hunting around all the thickets before the control -1.5 mins). So at least a total of 4 mins.
Finished 4th on the course, 5 mins down on Clive. SYO 2nd to FVO so a slightly disappointing day.

Edit: same result as last year: 4th place and 5 mins down on Clive. Although, with due respect to those in 2nd and 3rd last year, a better class of field this year ;-)

Blackpool Bridge via Digley and Goodbent Lodge. Back via Issues Road, Holme and Digley. Cruising nicely.

Golf. Pro's mid week comp. 35 Stableford points (18/17).
Lost on countback. If only I'd holed that 4th putt on the 14th rather than picking up. Doh!

Multiple laps of Digley. Bumped into Simon at end of first lap and got persuaded to do another.
