Note
(rest day)

Golf with Andy and Mick. 35 Stableford points (17/18).
Knee worse today. Plenty of hobbling. Not sure how I'm going to run this weekend? Will try a break from running starting next week.

Road bike 30:00 [2] 7.0 mi (4:17 / mi)

Nice afternoon and couldn't resist trying out my new toy. Into Holmfirth, up to Hade Edge and back around the top of Hades. Knee uncomfortable but eased off if anything. Pain never in the same place.

Note
(rest day)

10 holes of golf with Andy and Mick. 17 Stableford points.
Struggling a bit with my grip due the lacerations on my hands. Also my L knee still twinging quite badly from time to time.
I did some rollering and stretching before playing and noticed some pain on the outside of my knee when doing quad stretches.

Note
(rest day)

Foam roller and stretching. A bit less painful today.

Note
(rest day)

Precautionary session with Kim.
Knee pain probably caused by very tight quads. More painful foam rollering for me!
3 PM

Note

Oops. Just purchased a new road bike.

Note
(rest day)

Feeling battered this morning. Cuts, abrasions and bruises to hands and R hip. Aching (sprained?) R shoulder. Most worrying is the sore L knee making the stairs a challenge. At least the usual problem areas (calves/Achilles) feel OK. Rest up until Lakes at the weekend and hope for the best.

Terrain running race 2:41:58 [3] 12.5 mi (12:57 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 X-Talon (3)

Peak Raid mini MM from Glossop.
11 of 15 controls (400 points).
Left knee OK to start but started to seize up around the hour mark. Struggling to walk at times but managed to keep going at a reduced pace. Fell over at around 2 hours landing hard on my hands and right hip. Smashed compass, got cold and disorientated and consequently messed up the next control (#5). Then set off to #4 but changed my mind and cut back to the finish via #3.
I think I need to try resting my knee for a week.

Orienteering race 47:49 [4] 6.0 mi (7:58 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1080v4

MDOC Urban race, Birchwood.
Men's Vets course, 7.5km.
Yes an urban race! Janet's brother lives on the map so fancied checking the area out. Always thought it would make a good urban area. Great sections in the complex stuff to start and finish with but the usual boring long urban legs in the middle. Cruised rather than raced and quite enjoyed myself. 4 mins down on Duncan Harris.
Knee mostly ok but the occasional wince if i over extended it.
