Orienteering race 1:24:40 [4] 7.5 mi (11:17 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 X-Talon (3)

AIRE Classic race, Ilkley and Burley Moors.
Black course, 9.9km, 390m.
Had planned to do the Ian Roberts fell race today but it got cancelled so off to Ilkley instead. Nice train ride to the start ;-)
No contact lenses left so no choice but to use glasses. OK to start with but useless once the (light) rain set in.
Wanted to treat this as a long training run in terrain but inevitably (due to hourly trains) ended up running with someone and hence racing. Pretty clean but I don't think I got the best route on the long leg to #15. I went up to the right not spotting that the calf has a big cliff above it called the cow which added distance at the end of my route. Good fun day out though and beat the worst of the rain. About 10 mins down on the younger guys.

Trail running 1:24:00 [3] 7.5 mi (11:12 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw(2)

Night out in Calderdale.
Personal invite from Simon B to run in the CVFR Night Score (90 mins footpath score from Heptonstall). Still feeling very tired from the weekend so not really competitive. Another good test for the contact lens though. A bit over-cautious and came back early having visited 11 of the 14 controls. James Logue of course cleared the lot! Thanks Simon.

Note
(rest day)

Feeling battered but in one piece (except for some missing skin on the inside of my right ankle bone).
