12 PM

Orienteering race 58:39 [3] 4.0 mi (14:40 / mi)
(injured) shoes: VJ Integrator (blue) 2

Scottish Champs, 'Craig A Barns'.
M55L (Blue) course, 5.6km, 315m.
Steady run not really expecting to get all the way round. Hamstring only got properly sore in the final open area. Navigation OK until #7 (wrong place?) then rescued myself on #9 before dropping way down the hill. Another miss on #16 (way too far down the hill).
Not really the Craig a Barns I was expecting :(
Also I think that's the last 3 Scottish Champs I have done to have a misplaced control...

Saturday Jun 12 #

(rest day)

Touristy day. Fowlsheugh bird reserve plus (very short) dip in Braidon Bay.
Hamstring feeling fine walking now and even jogging a little. I will walk to the start tomorrow and see how it goes...

shoes: Shimano AM9 MTB SPD

Home from Marsden.

Monday Jun 7 #

11 AM

Mountain Bike 53:00 [2] 11.5 mi (4:37 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Shimano AM9 MTB SPD

Standard MTB loop.
Needed to see if my hamstring would be an issue cycling. Answer: just the odd twinge. Also to check on the bottom bracket squeak which the bike shop were unable to find. Answer: nothing. It must have been my cleats as they suggested.
Tracks all back in dry summer conditions. Pleased to get a new pb for the Ramsden Road climb.
