Sunday Feb 19 #

9 AM

Orienteering race 1:02:49 [4] 6.0 mi (10:28 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw (3)

POM Day 2. S Bartolomeu do Outeiro.
M55 7.4km 230m.
Going OK, barring a big banana to #9, until #12. After crossing the first crossing point, jumped to the 2nd crossing point and obviously couldn't make anything fit. Took 10 mins and multiple relocates off the wrong crossing point before I twigged. Game well and truly over. 10 mins quicker would have been respectable but still 5 mins down on Al Landels.
At least my knee behaved itself so one positive.
31st of 99.

Saturday Feb 18 #

Event: POM 2023
12 PM

Orienteering race 34:44 [4] 3.0 mi (11:35 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw (3)

POM Day 1.
M55, 4.4km 80m.
Steady start but lost contact on the way to #5 and wandered for a couple of minutes. No other major time loss but cautious to protect my knee. First finisher so suspect it will have tracked up later on.
Surprised to remain in the top 10.
7th of 103. Eddie Wymer 30 mins.

Friday Feb 17 #

12 PM

Walk/jog around some of the POM Model area with Janet. Useful to know green circles and crosses not to be relied upon.
L knee not feeling stable but not painful at this very slow pace. Not sure if it will cope tomorrow or not...
10 mins stood in our (unheated) pool to ice knee (and everything below).

Wednesday Feb 15 #

11 AM

Trail running 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Guide 13 TR

Digley. Pre travel leg stretch, but...
Painful twinge in L knee after 15 mins. Was only able to jog a few steps thereafter before another painful twinge. OK walking and seems fine now. Worrying though.

Tuesday Feb 14 #

Golf. Pro's mid week comp. 37 Stableford points (20/17).
3 PM

Trail running 1:24:00 [3] 9.0 mi (9:20 / mi)

Same run as Friday. Getting more confident that I can cope with these long(er) runs. Knees a bit creaky.
