SCOA Lge Event (SOC) - Lucas Castle, New Forest.
BROWN - 9.9km
Me and Tams are really enjoying these events down in the NF. Both of us are getting the 'feel' for the terrain and Tams is performing well.
Although, today is a day to forget, big mistkaes on 2 Controls, then a DSQ.
C3. took a bearing through a block of mixed woodland, ended up drifting right, hitting 'the track' and attacked the Control. But, by drifting right, hit the wrong track and was looking in the wrong part of the wood. Lost 3 minutes here trying to make the map fit the terrain.
C5. Over-shot the Control and spent 6 minutes trying to sort it out. Rubbish.
DSQ. C13 - got wrong control. Which is frustrating as i was concious all the the way round that i was checking the control no. Must of missed this one!
Other than that, i was running well and if not dropped those 9 minutes, could have been good for top three.
Lge Update: Now able to run as BADO in SCOA Lge. This didn't help me though, as will have to tack on an extra event later in the spring.
